Kat Dennings, born Katherine Victoria Litwack on June 13, 1986 in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania was the first born child of Gerald and Ellen Dennings. Ellen Dennings, Kat's maternal grandmother, is a writer and speech therapy. Her father Gerald is a college prof and molecular biologist. Dennings is the youngest out of five children and was brought up in a family that was all Jewish. Dennings went through homeschooling and only attended school for a short time. As she began acting at an early age, she realized that homeschooling was the best solution. At the age of nine, she started to act in commercials. Following her graduation from high school she and her family moved in Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Kat Dennings began her auditions under the name of. Kat Dennings' acting debut came after moving to LA after appearing in HBO's "Sex and the City" in 2000. Following that, Dennings was a star in WB's sitcom "Sex and the City".
